You may not have noticed this, but Soft has not yet decided on an official logo! I have been experimenting with different fonts and images for a while, but decided to hire a professional to come up with an image that goes with the aesthetic that has been created up to now--but also says something new. After many rounds and meetings, we have narrowed down our options to the following draft images. Please vote (ABOVE) for your favorite to help us decide on our official logo!
I like the loose yarn ball logo concept, but the font doesn't go with the loose ball so great. The asymmetry of the font isn't the right thing to go with the asymmetry of the yarn ball. It think I'd try a less playful font. [PS I was an account manager at an ad agency -- I know logo creation and selection are difficult! Good luck!!]
I like the cotton with a softer stem or no stem like a cloud. otherwise 2nd choice is patch or loose yarn is good because you get an idea that its clothing related right away. I don't know if this helps. maybe just adds to the confusion.... @_@?
I would go with the first one, the font's soft edges work well with the concept. Although I love orange and black I am not sure I'd go with those, I think maybe a sky blue would go well for the cotton puff and the rest could stay black, but that suggestion is just a personal preference.
I like the patch. The patch is simple, fresh, and kid-oriented without being cutesy. The yarn balls make me think "sweaters," which make me think "itchy." As a knitter, I know that is senseless, but that is my association.
I have to agree with some of the other comments...blue is a cool, calming color, and it seems that a cloud would imply the maximum softness. The font is great, but it definitely would be nice with a blue cloud for the "o."
To me, the patch image triggers total sensitivy issues! Nobody in my house wears anything with patches, ever. I like the cloud. Even the ball of yarn looks scratchy to me.
I am so excited about your product line -- can't wait.
