Did you all know that the term 'mental retardation' has been replaced by the term ' intellectual disability'? In the new DSM-V the term will be officially replaced, but that does not mean we need to keep using the word 'mental retardation' to evoke more stigmas attached to the word 'retardation'.
On your child's current IEP they may be classified as MR not ID, the forms will be changed in the upcoming future. Spread the good word!
